Following a few years of reduced global travel due to Covid we were delighted last month to see the Social Enterprise World Forum taking place again, in person, in Brisbane. Here at the ISEO we have long believed that there are real benefits for organisations and communities in learning from each other, both at home and from those further afield.
We also see opportunities for social enterprise to grow and diversify their markets and as tech based enterprises and global markets develop we believe not only that Scotland is a great place to do business but also that we have great social enterprise products, ideas and services we can trade outside of Scotland too.
Trading internationally will not be for every social enterprise but for those that are interested in exploring work in this way, want to develop a base here in Scotland or simply come and visit and learn more about social enterprise in Scotland – we’re here to help.
The work of the ISEO has continued during Covid but we also took this opportunity to talk with stakeholders to help shape our work moving forwards. While we already connect with other partners to deliver this work (Scottish Government, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Development International, Social Enterprise Academy and Challenges Worldwide) we wanted to hear from clients too.
- We have simplified our website and will be updating and adding more practical case studies as well continuing the one to one support available.
- We are trialling new events, targeted newsletters and improving our social media and communication work.
- We are looking at how we can work more closely with partners and improve signposting to the benefit of those we work with.
If this is of interest to you then please sign up for our newsletter. It’s designed to come out quarterly so you won’t be bombarded and please do contact the team if you are looking for more one to one advice and support.
